My Life + A Rant

  • May. 8th, 2009 at 7:20 PM
Reading and chips
My life hasn't been particularly spectacular these past couple of days. I went to prom last weekend, though. That was fun. A lot more fun then I thought it would be. Especially after I realized that everyone around me couldn't dance, so it wouldn't matter if I couldn't either. Which I can't. But that's ok. :D

Hmm. I can't really think of anything else. I've written two chapters of what I hope will be a really amazing ZoSan fic, but I'm too apprehensive to post it yet. Have to work up the courage!

WARNING! I'm about to rant about my teacher, so if you don't want to hear the angry ramblings of a teenage sociopath, I'd just skip down if I were you.

My sixth hour teacher is HORRIBLE! She is so unorganized! She's lost a bunch of my papers already, and I swear if I fail that class I'm going to stab her in the neck. I've been there every single day and she's trying to tell me that I haven't been there to do my work. BOLOGNA!!! COLD, HARD, MOLDY BOLOGNA!!! AND THEN! When you ask her a simple question, SHE BITES YOUR HEAD OFF WITH SHARP AND POINTY TEETH! For instance, today we had to watch a video in class, and she wanted us all to do a worksheet for it. One of my friends was absent today, and I asked if I could get an extra worksheet for her (the teacher put us all in groups so that if someone in our group was missing, we could fill them in on what we did because the teacher is too unorganized to tell them herself, and my friend was in my group). Anyway, I asked for the worksheet, and she yelled at me, saying that it wasn't my responsibility, it was my absent friends! I'm ashamed to say I snapped. I had been having a really bad day, and she just happened to get on my last nerve. I calmly told her that she had put us in groups so that we could fill each other in on what we missed if one of us was absent, and that if she really didn't want us doing that, then she need to go back to f-ing college and learn how to be a really f-ing teacher, because she was doing a horrible job. I'm proud to say she handed me the worksheet and shut up. Apparently she did have some sense, after all.

END OF RANT

PHEW! That was a lot to get off my chest!

In other, less angry, news, I've decided to get my father something for Mother's day. It's something he wouldn't be expecting, and for once, I want to be unpredictable! I don't want to get him a rose, though. I want to get him something a little more manly then that, but stay under a $10 budget. Any ideas?

Well, I think that's all for now. I should start working on my essay for English, but it's not due until Monday, and I only have one paragraph left, so...

Tata!

Ugh...The Flu

I can't stay on very long, I was hit with a terrible case of the flu tonight. I was eating my dinner, all nice and happy, then BAM! It hit me. Sneaky little *beep*...

Anyway, I haven't been able to work on an writing lately. I've been caught up in this book series I'm reading, the Urban Shaman. I don't know if that's what the series is called, but that's the first book in the series, so that's what I'm calling it. Oooh that reminds me...HEY, MELISSA!!! I think you're missing a book. In the second one, it keeps talking about a banshee she defeated, and I can't for the life of me remember a banshee, besides Maria, but she didn't fight Maria...
EDITIt's actually called the Walker Papers. I just looked it up. I RECOMMEND THIS SERIES! (If I spelled recommend wrong, just ignore it. I have issues with that word.)

I didn't get to post last week because of the abover reason, also. All of my alone time has gone to reading. I enjoy it. My dad is giving me a hard time with it, though. He says that reading is all I do. All I have to say to that is SO WHAT! At least I'm not doing drugs or anything equally stupid.

Well, it's a short update, but at least you all have a general idea of what's going on in my life right about now. Not that you really care. I just like sharing. :)

I know I haven't posted in a very long time, and I'd love to blame it on a bunch of different things, but I shouldn't. I'm trying to get out of the whole blaming things on everything else thing, partly because I don't want to turn into my mother. Thankfully, though, my computer is co-operating with me tonight *keeps fingers crossed* so I can post. Well, that was kind of a blame, but my computer deserves it. I'm going to try and post at least once a week. It may not always be a super long...thing...but it'll be a post nonetheless (I didn't want to use the word post three times in a sentence, even though I just did).

I'm going to start working on writing a drabble at least once a week, too. I don't know what the pairing will be or if it'll be happy or sad, but darn it, I'm going to do it!

For those of you that are still watching for news on my parents, thank you, and they're doing fine. Well, depending on what you consider fine. They split up (my mom was my dad's girlfriend, so it wasn't my real parents splitting up). I had mix feelings about the break up for a while, but looking back on it now, I'm kind of happy that they split up. My dad is happy...well, as happy as he can be. I'm not sure about Angel (dad's ex), but from the gossip I've heard, she's happy as well. There was just a lot of stress from the accident and both my dad and Angel changed, so they went their separate ways (very dramatically, I might add).

Well, I'm going to go hunt down the 'Holic updates since the last time I've been on, and hopefully my cousin will get back with me soon on the question I asked her. Toodles!

Unfortunate Accident Update + Book Recs

  • Nov. 12th, 2008 at 6:14 PM
ZORO-SWAN!!
So, my parents are doing well still. My Dad had surgery last Friday on his ankle (they had to take out two screws). Further surgeries are needed, though not for a while. My Mom is still in a lot of pain, but her doctor (though I don't think he should be allowed to claim that title) told her that face injuries and such take up to a year to fully heal. My father is walking well, but he still has what they call a "walking cast" on his leg. It's basically a brace; you can remove when needed.

Well, now that that's over, I would like to recommend you all some books! The Southern Vampire series, aka the Sookie Stackhouse series by Charlaine Harris. This series brings together all the elements of the supernatural world: vampires, werewolves, shape-shifters, witches, and many more. It's romantic, humorous, thrilling, and emotional all at once. Charlaine Harris' distinct way of writing has you reeling for more every time.

I can't remember what else I was going to talk about, so I'll say toodles for now!

Sorry that it's been so long since I've updated. My computer has been acting up (again). Anyway, my parents are doing excellent. Thankfully, neither of them have any major mental repercussions. Unfortunately, they're both still in pain. My mom's face is still hurting really, really bad, but the doctor said that it's normal after having plates and pins put in your face and whatnot. My dad has three kind-of-casts; two on his wrists and one on his right leg. I call them kind-of-casts because you can take them off and everything. I guess normal people would call them braces, but whoever said I was normal?

Well, that's about it for now. I'll be sure to update again (hopefully sooner this time). Toodles!

Knowing beforehand that you wouldn't fail, what would you attempt to do?

The wind singing in my ears, my hair dancing all around me, the sense of being weightless...

Oh yeah, I'd definitely want to fly.

I mean, just think about it. Wouldn't you want to be as free as the great eagle? No one to tell you what to do or where to go...except Mother Nature, of course. The world would be your playground, your home and, let's face it, your bathroom. No if's, and's, or but's about it. The sky is your own and you...you are the eagle.

Parental Update

Good news: My Dad was moved today to a rehabilitation hospital.
Bad news: It's 3 hours away, and he may be in there for a year or more.
But as long as he gets better and back to normal, I'm happy.
My Mom is at home, still in a lot of pain. I know that she went for a doctor's appointment on Tuesday, but I don't know what for (I'm not at home right now, I'm at my cousin's). I plan on calling her later tonight and asking her how she is and whatnot.

Other than that, I don't have much news. Please continue to send the good vibes, because no one is really positive if my father will come out of this situation quite like he was before it all happened. He did, after all, recieve quite a blow to the head. So please, continue putting out those good thoughts, they really do help!

So, my parents are a little better. My Mom is out of the hospital, but she's still in a lot of pain. She goes for facial reconstruction next month. Her bones got smashed. :(

Sadly, my Dad is still in the hospital, and I honestly don't expect him back for at least two months. He got off much, much worse than my Mom. I still need everyone's good vibes in hoping that he comes out with no personality change and no memory loss. He took a lot of damage to his head.

Thank you to everyone who commented and wished us well! We'll get through this! *is an optimist*

Just this week my parents were in a very terrible motorcycle accident, and thoughts and prayers are needed. As of right now, my father is still in critical condition and my mother is stable. I don't know what else to say, except that I thank everyone who thinks and prays for us from the bottom of my heart.

I'll try to keep people updated on their conditions, if anyone is concerned.

01. How has LJ changed your life?
Between the people and the fics, I've become a more confident, albeit crazy, person. I thank you, LJ! You've changed me for the better!

02. What do you do before bedtime?
Brush my teeth and hair, wash my face, and read. :) I'm a nerd, I know.

03. What are you going to have for dinner tonight?
I had Taco Bell for dinner. Yummy Queso Crunch!

04. What is the city of your dreams and why?
I've ALWAYS wanted to live in New Orleans. Don't know why, I just have.

05. Are you an introvert or an extrovert?
I'm an introvert when it comes to new people. When it comes to friends, I usually can be nuts around them and they're just like "Ah, what else is new?"

06. Name something you wish you could do in your free time, but don't actually do.
Dance. Haha, just joking. I actually wish I could have the patience to get on the computer in my free time. My computer is vampiric and refuses to work during the day. 'Matter of fact, it hardly ever works at night.

07. Do you trust easily?
No. I don't trust a person until I know them.

08. What personal belonging do you have with you everywhere you go?
Well, I would say my brain, but that's a lie. I usually don't leave the house without a book, unless I'm going somewhere where I know it'll be impossible to read it.

09. Is there anything that has made you unhappy these days?
Family issues. 'Nough said.

10. What is your best quality?
Well, my cousin told me it's my sense of humor. I have to admit, my sense of humor is...well rounded.

11. Do you plan on changing questions in this meme, or are you too lazy for that?
Too lazy, I guess. Unless, of course, there's one I don't want to answer. Then it's sayonara to that question!

12. If you could have one superpower, what would that be?
FLIGHT! I've ALWAYS wanted to fly. When I was a kid, my neighbor and I would play those pretend games, and I would always pretend that I could fly. Even when I go swimming, I imagine that it's air that I'm floating in. *is embarrassed now*

13. Who are currently the most important people to you?
Definitely my friends and family. Without them, my head would explode.

14. What kind of person do you think the person who tagged you is?
The GREATEST! She's always there to hear me complain and fangirl, and she see's my side on a lot of things, as well as the other person's side, thus she helps me through a lot of drama's.

15. Would you rather be single and rich or married and poor?
Definitely married and poor. If I loved the person and they loved me back, that is. Though if I was single and rich, I could always just marry the books I buy with all my money. That sounds nice...

16. How many children do you want to have, if any?
I don't have any, and I can't decide how many I want. I've always wanted a big family, but I can understand what it would be like with a bunch of little kids running around. So maybe three? Or two? I definitely don't want one...*indecisive*

17. What's better, to give or to receive?
It's equal, for me. It's always great to get something, but then I feel obligated to give something in return, either directly or indirectly. That's how the world works, I guess.

18. If you fall in love with two people simultaneously, which one would you pick? Do you have any strange hobbies?
Why are these two questions rolled into one? Anyway, 1) I would pick the one that loves me back, duh. 2) I can't think of a strange hobby I have, though I know I have many. When I think of it, I'll be sure to let you know.

19. Would you have 100% safe sex with a stranger for $10,000,000?
No. The money would be nice, but there are a ton of ways you could make that much without having to do something so...personal.

20. What were your parents going to name you if you were born the opposite gender?
I don't remember...though I do know she wanted to name me Amber. It was a toss up between Amber and Amanda, and guess which one won? (My name is Amanda, by the way)

Now, I tag...whoever wants to do this! :)

Writer's Block: Dreams

Talk about a recurring dream you've had, or talk about your most vivid dream. What makes it stick in your memory?

I run to my father, my heart racing just seeing him laying on that gurney. I reach for his arm, only to have it deflate under my fingers. As I step back, terror closing my throat, the house is engulfed in flames and Chuckie's face leers at me from inside the flames...

This was absolutely the scariest dream I've ever had in my life. I was five, maybe six, and I had just watched the movie Chuckie (against my parents wishes). I remember waking up from this dream and running into my parents room, not only to make sure that Dad was ok, but also to snuggle between my parents for the security and comfort I always felt from them.

I think the thing that makes this dream stick with me in my memory, even though I was so young when I had it, is the fact that I've always been a Daddy's girl. He was always the one I could run to for problems. Even now, he's my go-to man. So all in all, the reason I'm so terrified is the simple fact that I don't want to loose the one man that as always been there for me, and always will be.

Haven't done a journal in a while...

...so I decided to do one now. I don't have anything to talk about, so this will be mostly rambling.

Hmm...

I recently just found out that Fatal Frame III is out in North America (though it's been out since 2005), yet I can't find it anywhere. I'd really like to get that game, because I've played I and II and they are the bomb. Seriously, my house almost blew up when we (my cousin and I) played them. Though that's mostly because our screaming and laughing. I remember one time we were playing the second one (I think) and the shadow of a stool scared the poopage out of me.

Yep, the adventures of Amanda the Scaredy Dog (I don't like cats).

Once I figure out how to submit fanfics on here, I'm going to put up one. It'll probably be my ZoSan fanfic, because I'm close to finishing that one. It's just a one-shot, but it's still kind of long. I've lost the ability to write short stories. My teachers are going to hate me when we start school again...

Well, I said that I didn't have anything to talk about, but I suppose I had more than I knew. Anyway, I'm out of things to say, so toodles!

This is my first post on LJ!! I've belonged to this site for a while, but I've never really posted anything. I'm not even sure what all I should write in here.

...

I love fanfics. They rock!!

Well, I guess that's it for my first post. Not much else to say, really. Eventually I'll have to post a fanfic here. I'll end up having to ask my cousin for help, because I'm such a n00b and all. :D

Hugs and smiles!
